Sample Walmart plan of action
This is a complete sample for a made-up seller, "Northline Home Goods", whose Walmart Marketplace account was suspended after its cancellation rate passed the 2% standard. The seller, the SKUs, the supplier and every number are invented. A real plan is written only from what you send us, in this same shape.
The shape Walmart's own appeal guide asks for: a written business plan of action with (1) a description of the violation, (2) the steps taken to correct it and (3) the steps that prevent it recurring, plus whatever the notice asked you to attach: current warehouse images, supplier invoices under two months old, or both. Short. Specific. Dated. No apologies, no held-payment paragraph, no "please".
1. What went wrong
Between 2 and 14 June 2026 we cancelled 31 of the 1,140 orders Walmart sent us, a cancellation rate of 2.7% against the 2% standard. 27 of the 31 were out-of-stock cancellations on three SKUs (NL-KET-15, NL-KET-17 and NL-TST-2) whose inventory feed was still counting a 240-unit shipment from our supplier that had been invoiced on 28 May but had not arrived. Our feed was built from purchase orders, not from stock received, so the SKUs showed as in stock for twelve days while the shelf was empty. The remaining 4 cancellations were address-not-serviceable cancellations on orders we could in fact have shipped; the warehouse team marked them wrongly.
2. Corrective steps already taken
- On 15 June 2026 the three SKUs were set to zero in Seller Center and stayed at zero until the shipment was received and counted on 19 June (inventory export of 15 June and goods-received note of 19 June attached).
- On 15 June the inventory feed was switched from purchase-order quantities to the warehouse's received count, synced every four hours (feed settings screenshot attached).
- Every open order was shipped by 17 June with valid tracking; none was cancelled (order export attached).
- The four address-not-serviceable cancellations were reviewed with the warehouse team on 16 June; the two staff involved were re-trained on the serviceable-area list the same day, and that list is now printed at the packing bench.
- Our cancellation rate from 15 June to 14 July was 0.3% (4 of 1,312 orders, all customer-requested; Performance page screenshot attached).
3. Preventive steps
- Inventory is never fed from a purchase order or an invoice; only from stock physically counted into the warehouse, every four hours.
- Any SKU that falls under 10 units is set to zero on Walmart automatically until it is restocked.
- The weekly stock count on Monday mornings compares the Walmart feed with the shelf count; any difference over 2 units is corrected before 10 am.
- A cancellation may only be entered by the warehouse lead, who checks the reason against Walmart's list of seller-accountable reasons first.
- The Performance dashboard is checked every morning; if the 30-day cancellation rate reaches 1%, listings on the affected SKUs are paused the same day.

What is deliberately not in it
- No apology paragraph, no mention of how long the account has been open, no held-payments paragraph.
- No blame on the supplier or the carrier; the cause named is the one we controlled (a feed built from purchase orders).
- No claim that "all policies were read"; the preventive steps are concrete actions with a trigger and a frequency.
- No invoice created, edited or "cleaned up" by anyone but the supplier, and no photo older than the appeal. Walmart's guide says a denied appeal can mean further action on the account.
- Nothing that cannot be supported by a document in the list.
